Naples Weather
Since Naples is in what is described as a Mediterranean climate, it offers summers which are hot and dry with winters that are typically wet, but mild in terms of temperature.
It should be noted that since the days of the Roman Empire, Naples has been a popular spot for those on holiday and it continues to serve that role today, as well.

Naples Travel
To assist visitors in their travels, Naples has plenty of motorways and a well developed public transit system which includes buses, funiculars, trams and even trolleys.

There are trains which service this city, as well as a rapid transit system underground and Naples International Airport which hosts over 100 flights coming or going each day.

Naples - General Information
Although it was originally a Greek colony founded in 8th Century BC, it has played a pivotal role in world history in many respects.
Although its name comes from the Neapolitan phrase meaning New City, it is one of the oldest cities in the world and was established prior to the rise of the Roman Empire.

Due to its rich, storied history, Naples is home to a wide variety of famous styles of architecture which span the centuries, including Baroque, Medieval and Renaissance periods so there is a great deal to see here for those who love to view, photograph or sketch these types of buildings.
Not only is Naples the largest metropolitan city in all of Italy, it is also the city that is most densely populated. It boasts a thriving economy and a population of nearly 5 million people, nearly all of whom speak Italian with English being a common 2nd language choice.

Of all the historical feats of which Naples can boast, perhaps the most recognizable to people around the world would be the dish known as pizza which first originated in this city.
