Getting around Bruges
It is quite easy to travel to Bruges as a wide range of airlines tour to Brussels, and it is even easier to get around thanks to a modern and well built transportation system. In fact, the main airport within Belgium has a railway station within it that allows you to travel directly to Bruges with only one transfer as long as you plan your trip accordingly. If the train doesn’t suit your needs there is also a shuttle bus that runs 4 times each and every day to the city. It is important to note that while the historical center of Bruges is the main destination for any tourist, it is too large to get around purely on food. Inside the city the only public transportation option is the city bus but there are taxis available and many bicycles that can be rented for those that are a little more adventurous.

Weather
It is very important to plan any trip to Bruges at the right time, as the weather can be rather cold and damp in the winter and especially beyond the month of October. The weather all year round is much damper than other European cities such as Paris and London, but the mild summer temperatures can be a refreshing and much needed break from the scorching heat that is abundant in other areas.
